The 2022 Kundiman Gala: Stars & the Ever After

We are thrilled to announce that Kundiman will return with an in-person gala this October 15th, celebrating three literary superstar honorees. We will also be livestreaming the event for those who prefer to attend virtually. Inspired by a line from Kundiman co-founder Joseph O. Legaspi’s poem “Vows (for a gay wedding),” our gala theme “Stars & the Ever After” speaks to the vastness of Asian American literature.

Join us in honoring TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2021 awardee Cathy Park Hong, Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center curator Lawrence-Minh Bùi Davis, and Association of American Literary Agents Committee for Diversity founder Ayesha Pande. The event will take place in Manhattan's Flatiron District and will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will support readings, writing workshops, and mentorship for Asian American writers. Tickets will be available for purchase in early September. We look forward to toasting to the magic of Kundiman with you in October!
