Writing Parents with Sarah Thankam Mathews

An interactive and generative craft class on representing parental figures in fiction, with an especial eye towards fictionalization of Asian parents.  

eligibility:

This craft class is open to all writers of color. The non-refundable tuition fee is $50. This class will be held over Zoom. There are scholarship spots available, and the applications are open through Sunday, October 29th.

FACULTY:

Sarah Thankam Mathews is the author of the critically-acclaimed novel All This Could Be Different. All This Could Be Different was named an NYT Editor’s Choice, chosen for multiple best-of-the-year lists, and shortlisted for the National Book Award in Fiction. Mathews' work has been honored in the Best American Short Stories anthology series and received fellowships from the Asian American Writers’ Workshop and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
