Creating Intimacy with Sarah Thankam Mathews

SATURDAY, November 4TH
2:00 PM–5:00 PM ET

We all wish to avoid the cringe sex scene. This generative craft class explores how to write good, evocative—and if you want, hot—scenes of physical and emotional intimacy. We’ll look at passages from Arundhati Roy, Raven Leilani, Susan Choi, and J.M. Holmes, work together on some in-class writing exercises, and leave with a framework for drafting and revising scenes of physical and sexual intimacy.

eligibility:

This craft class is open to all writers of color. The non-refundable tuition fee is $50. This class will be held over Zoom. There are scholarship spots available, and the applications are open through Sunday, October 15th.
