September 1 marks the beginning of our annual Postcard Poem Exchange with the Poetry Coalition! Throughout the month, Kundiman Fellows and the community will write and mail postcard poems that engage with this year's theme of "Poetry and Shelter." Weekly photo recaps of postcard creations will be shared on our social media.
Kundiman’s Postcard Poem Exchange is part of the Poetry Coalition’s annual programming centered around a theme of social importance. The Poetry Coalition is a national alliance of more than 30 nonprofit organizations dedicated to promoting the value of poets in our daily lives and communities, and Kundiman is proud to be a founding member. Here is an archive and programming recap of the postcards sent last year, and below is an excerpt from one of the many poems that speak to "Poetry and Shelter."
Love is a story
we never tire of telling...
Love lives in many rooms.
