The Kundiman 10th Anniversary Gala

Honoree:  Vijay Seshadri
Winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry

Thank you for supporting the Kundiman 10th Anniversary Gala!

A special thank you to our honoree Vijay Seshadri and to Cathy Chung for their moving readings at the Kundiman Gala. Love to our beautiful Gala volunteer staff, and to the folks at the East Wing for their responsiveness and energy. Thank you Todd Kaneko for designing our Kundiman 10th Anniversary logo and photographer Jess X Chen for capturing the radiance of the evening. Big love to every Kundiman fellow who gifted chapbooks, publications, and broadsides for our Gala attendees. We want to acknowledge the generosity of all the donors (below) whose gifts made the Kundiman Silent Auction a brilliant success. And, most of all, to all the Gala attendees who came out in support of Asian American literature this night. Without your presence we could not make our mission a reality. Thank you.

Kundiman is dedicated to the creation and cultivation of Asian American literature.

And so are you. Through the conviction of our supporters, the Kundiman 10th Anniversary Gala entertained a sold out venue which brought in nearly $10,000 in a single evening. This fund will serve as the seed money in our plans to expand our Retreat programming into the fiction genre. As the Kundiman Retreat is the only writing retreat exclusive to Asian American writers in the nation, it provides invaluable tools and networks to a broad swath of both emerging and established writers. Please consider making a gift to Kundiman. Invest in the future of Asian American letters.

On XOX Truffles

As authentic French truffles should be, XOX truffles are small, slightly irregular shaped, hand-rolled treasures with a dense ganache center that quickly melts into rich buttery softness in your mouth.
-- Chocolatier Magazine, Top 10 of Artisan Chocolatiers

What sets these truffles apart is the contrast between their rough-hewn appearance and the delicate way Gorce flavors them. The bergamot in his Earl Grey truffle is subtle. The raspberry in his raspberry truffle doesn’t bring on the sharp dissonance you sometimes get when chocolate is paired with berries.  -- The Los Angeles Times

If you like chocolate, you most likely love truffles, and if you love truffles, you have to go to San Francisco.  San Francisco is the home of XOX Truffles, who make the best truffles, period.  -- Chocolate and Wine
