Healing through Dialogue: Immigration and the Transnational Family Project As[I]Am and Kundiman proudly present Healing through Dialogue: Immigration and the Transnational Family in honor of Filipino American History Month. Healing through Dialogue: Immigration and the Transnational Family asks: what trauma do we carry that has transited both time and space, and how does it inform AsianAmerican storytelling and identity? Join us for an afternoon of writing, reflection, and meditation as we unpack the violence of separation in Asian American families to discover community.
Healing through Dialogue is a series of generative writing workshops that aims to make space for diasporic dialogue through art. Our program seeks to cultivate a healing space where community members can connect by providing a platform through which they can exchange and collectively examine personal histories of trauma.
Project As[I]Am is an online Asian American magazine dedicated to social justice. Founded in 2013 by former Kundiman fellow Jordan Alam, As[I]Am seeks to actively create a pan-Asian space where we can examine the meaning of “Asian American.”
